So, today, I would like to introduce you, my readers, to someone who is near and . . .well, not quite dear. . .to my heart. He has been with me for as long as I can remember and, following a fruitful discussion with my husband on our 18+ hour car ride to Oklahoma, has finally been given a name, that all his invaluable contributions to my life, career, and emotional well-being might be properly acknowledged.
Without further ado, I would like you to meet Chadwick. Chadwick always has my best interests in mind, and shows it by letting me know whenever I do anything wrong.
Said something wrong? Chadwick immediately lets me know and reminds me about it every day for the next year. Forgot to do something? Chadwick wakes me up at 3:00 AM to make sure I realize it. Finished writing a book? Chadwick lets me know every single thing wrong with it so that someday it can be published. Got rejected? Chadwick lets me know not to expect acceptances anytime soon so that I’m not too disappointed. Put myself out there? Chadwick reminds me of all the judgement I can expect so that I’m not taken by surprise.
I have a feeling that Chadwick has innumerable brothers out there providing this same service for others, but there is still no one quite like my Chadwick. And now that I’ve decided to introduce him to the world, you may expect to hear quite a bit from him, as he is rather loquacious.
And before I sign off, Chadwick would like me to let you all know that, although I did write my 50k words for NaNoWriMo, and that’s all well and good, I wrote absolutely nothing yesterday despite my ambitions to use NaNo as a jumping point to write every single weekday, and am unlikely to write anything today either.
