NaNoWriMo Day 11 Recap: Sore Feet

I know, if anything, you’d expect to see sore fingers on here – from typing so hard! But I am pretty sure everything is sore except my fingers. Because yesterday, as I mentioned yesterday, was our annual Operation Christmas Child Party! I think it was like our 11th or 12th. I’ve lost track at this point. So from waking to [almost] sleeping, we were readying food, beverages, and setting up toys and boxes. We usually provide a nice buffet and then all the necessities ( school items, hygiene items) and then a good base supply of toys and ask others to come with additional toys and help us pack the boxes themselves. This year was a smaller turnout than usual – thirteen including children – but they were a very hardworking bunch and packed 110 boxes between 2:00 and 6:00!

A few stayed around to visit afterward, which is always fun, but by the end of it, I was having trouble walking because my legs and hips hurt so much. Man, do I need to get into shape! So around 8:30, our last guests left and we curled up on the sofa with ibuprofen and tv…and I pulled out the laptop just long enough to write a couple sentences so I could update NaNo. But hey, 58 words is better than nothing. Every tiny step helps!

As for today’s recap “sore feet” – you should have seen me trying to walk last night OR this morning!
