NaNoWriMo Day 10 Recap: Fitting it in

Today we are hosting our annual Operation Christmas Child Packing Party which means yesterday was…prep day! Okay, who am I kidding? We do a majority of prep today, but as much as we can the day before. So Daniel actually took the day off, and we ran out first thing in the morning to do all the shopping – we are having a smaller than usual turnout today, so might not get as many boxes packed and it was hard for my psyche to remember to buy less food. Now I’m worried I bought too little. But I always worry about that.

Anyway. So, shopping, and some more shopping, and some cleaning, and then a friend came over so I could show her how to make a reel on Canva, and what with one thing and another it was at least 8:30 before I finally sat down to write. So I did my whole, write a couple hundred words and read a chapter thing, and eked those 2k words out super slowly and painfully and you guys, I do not like where my characters are taking this. I think they are lost. It doesn’t feel right. But I don’t know what does feel right. So I am gong to have to keep writing and hoping it straightens itself out. And just yesterday it felt so natural. But it seems to be taking a darker turn and you all know that I don’t do dark. So I may have to have a talk with them.
