I’ve been on the road the last two days heading to Oklahoma, which means full days of driving since my husband works from the car. And that, in turn, translates to being too tired to write afterwards. So, yes, I did skip the recap for the 16th, because I didn’t want to admit to you all that I only got a few hundred words written. Yesterday was a bit better because I made myself write in the car and got like 1,400 words in! Although….confession time. Again.
I may have started my story over. I’m not quite sure yet! But as I told my husband, every time I wrote it kind of felt like I was traveling on a little path next to the road that I was supposed to be on. I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to be writing or doing but something felt just off enough that I hesitated with every writing sessions. SO. I finally decided that I was going to start over and see if it felt more natural. See if the story did something else. And if it doesn’t, then I’ll return to my previous story, assuming I just didn’t want to put the work into it.
So far, I am about 1800 words into the new start and am liking it a lot better – but we’ll see if that continues. And yes, I am counting EVERY SINGLE ONE of these words and the previous words toward NaNo because I did write them even if they end up being deleted. So there.
