NaNoWriMo Day 12 Recap: Running, Running, Running. Also, coffee.

But not with my word count. Though that went better than it would have had it not been for…well, I’m getting ahead of myself.

Whew. Yesterday was…not expected. First of all, I woke up and immediately felt like God was telling me that He would help me work out the scene I was stuck in if I went and worked on it immediately. So I did. I threw on a bathrobe, got some coffee, sat down, and wrote over 1,000 words, just finishing the scene, with a fair idea of what was going to happen next. And good thing too, because that is all I got written yesterday.

As I was finishing, Daniel came in and sat in the chair in my writing room sipping his own coffee. We got to talking about Christmas plans and gifts and things we needed to do and suddenly it was ten minutes before we had to leave for church! And then the day never stopped.

Church (which was a very apropos message I will talk about at some point), coffee with my sister and her roommate (our last chance to see her for three weeks), gift shopping, hurry back home to meet someone who left something at our house during Saturday’s soiree, visit for an hour, rush to the library before they closed, back to the stores for more gift shopping (and some much needed fall shoes), then back home, finally cleaning up after Saturday (still not done, but closer), and the rest of the evening was spent going through the 100+ boxes to make sure they were full enough/age appropriate, etc., since there were lots of adorable children helping pack who were positive they could do it themselves.

Seriously, one of my favorite things about hosting that party, but definitely means we need to go through the boxes after.

Hopefully I’ll get in some good words today, since my sister is mocking me with her word count over on Instagram…
